Halloween Challenges That Are Spooky
I’m realizing that a fun way to bring some twists and turns into a relationship - the good kind - are to play into the seasons, the holidays, and the fun moments on the calendar.
Which brings me to Halloween!
It’s less than a week away and if you don’t have any plans, that’s okay.
I created this list of fun activities you and your partner can do that break the mold of how you’d spend your week/weekend and make life a bit more fun.
Costume Contest
Heading to a party? Going to a neighborhood event? Staying home and watching scary movies? A fun challenge is to come up with a couple’s costume that you both agree on and are excited about. It’s a great way to work together, brainstorm fun ideas, and get dressed up - whether or not you have a reason.
Here are some of my favorite couple’s costumes:
Carve a Wedding Photo into a Pumpkin
Carving a pumpkin is not an easy thing to do so to make it even more of a challenge, bust out of your wedding album, pick a photo and try to carve that into the pumpkin. You’ll need to be a skilled expert to pull this off but the point isn’t for it to look perfect, it’s the process and having fun with your partner trying to pull this challenge off!
The Candy Game
Love Halloween candy? Grab a bag of you and your partner’s favorites and write some fun questions on each of the wrappers. The rule is that you have to answer the question before you eat the candy. These questions can be both fun and super deep!
Face a Fear
Halloween is all about scary things! Sit down with your partner and write down a list of 3 of your biggest fears (solo) then come together and brainstorm ways you can help the other person overcome something that scares them.
Head to an Escape the Room
Looking to get out of the house this Halloween? An easy and fun thing to do are the escape the rooms. It’s a great way to work together as a couple and it’s better than just walking through a haunted house (though those are awesome too!).
Do a Halloween Bake-Off
A simple and fun way to spend the weekend is doing a bake-off. Pick 1-3 items from this list and head to the kitchen. Each of you make the same recipe and then taste each other’s to see who baked the dish the best!
